After our successful inaugural call for scores, we’re running it back for 2026! The application is open now until December 1.
We’re looking for existing (or arranged) works for our quirky L’Histoire ensemble, especially pieces that have never received a premiere or are ready for their second performance. There are no composer demographic restrictions, and works can be any length. Winners will be announced in February 2027, and the winning works will be performed in Spring 2027.
We will have a rehearsal with the winners leading up to the performance (in-person or virtually, as needed) and the concert will be video and audio recorded. Check out our performances of our 2025 winners, Sheer by Annika Socolofsky and Volition by Say Mayfire.
Some important info:
Our core instrumentation:
Clarinet (doubling bass clarinet and Eb)
Bassoon
Trumpet
Percussion
Violin (doubling alto voice)
Double bass
Open instrumentation works are encouraged! Subset instrumentations of 4 or more players will also be considered. New arrangements of existing works are acceptable, but the score you submit should be arranged for our instrumentation.
Practicality of percussion requirements will be taken into consideration.
