News & Updates
Exceptatic and Timet Two (March 27)
A quick update on our lives and happenings for you: We had an insanely good time in Boston playing for a packed house at The Record Co. for the Times Two Series. Huge thanks to Maria Finkelmeier and Rob Honstein for being awesome hosts and bringing us out for such a great audience.
Also wanted to extend an equally huge thanks to MATA for presenting us on the Interval Series in conjunction with the Ecstatic Music Festival at Merkin Hall. The experience was surreal and we are so thankful for the opportunity they gave us.
We are now gearing up for the Queens New Music Festival in May! Can't wait to bring our tunes to our neighboring borough. Come out and maybe we will get thai food after :)
Winter update #1 (Dec 28):
Thank you so much to everyone who came to the Firehouse Space earlier this month to see us perform with Echo Chamber! Once again, seeing so many friendly faces filled us with warmth. And all those people made it very hot, too.
Next stop for Exceptet is Boston! We'll be appearing on Rob Honstein's and Maria Finkelmeier's Times Two Series on March 5. We're playing alongside Brooklyn-based folk music band-meets contemporary classical ensemble Goldfeather, led by our very own multi-talented violinist Sarah Goldfeather.
After that we are back in New York for the MATA Interval Series and Ecstatic Music Festival team-up at Merkin Hall on March 13. Once again we'll be joined by Goldfeather. With a new piece from Fay Wang and two new works by Brendon Randall-Myers. You don't want to miss it!
Individual tickets and festival passes for Ecstatic Music Festival are on sale now! Through December 31, passes for all eight incredible concerts are just $100. Get yours now, because on January 1, festival passes go up to $150.
We'll see you soon!
Summertime update #2 (Sept 4):
We are thrilled to announce that we will be playing on the MATA Interval Series this coming season! We will be premiering selections of our new collaboration with our close friend Brendon Randall-Myers. He is writing us an epic, seven-part work which will highlight each member of the ensemble in different ways and with different electronic toys. Date TBA, so just stay available for the foreseeable future *wink*.
Also on the horizon for this season are commissions with two of our other favorite composer humans, Alex Weiser and Scott Wollschleger. We can't believe how lucky we are to have these guys writing for us and can't wait to share their music with everyone.
Lastly, do you live in Boston? Do you plan on being alive on March 5th? We are playing in Boston that day on the Times Two Series, run by Rob Honstein and Maria Finkelmeier. If you don't know this series, check it out. It is a good thing to know.
